The City of Lake Charles has one of the most interesting and unique downtown districts. Downtown Lake Charles is quickly become the "heart of the city", once again! Along with numerous downtown businesses, daytime activities feature an outdoor amphitheatre, tennis courts,I-10 beach, a children's playground, an interactive children's fountain, among others. Lake Charles' downtown district has peaked particular interest for many of the residents of the city. For too long, the area went unnoticed by businesses and was all but a "ghost town" on the weekends.

Many more plans are in the works for downtown Lake Charles. We have new lofts in the downtown area as well as the upcoming construction of the new Hotel and the restoration of the Charleston Hotel, which is near completion. There are also renovations that have been made to the fabulous Civic Center as well as the "Much Talked About" new Waterfront in front of the Civic Center.
